Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya' Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India as a result of recommendations of Second Pay Commission. They primarily cater to the educational needs of the children of Central Govt. Employees including Defence personnel State Govt. Employees and floating population. Needless to say, they have common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), New Delhi. |

Places chosen for establishing Kendriya Vidyalayas are those having concentration of Defence personnel and other transferable Central Govt. Employees. For admission, Kendriya Vidyalayas give priority to the children of transferable Defence personnel, Central Govt. Employees and personnel of All India Services. But other floating population desirous of having such common pattern of education is also eligible for admission to the remaining seats. The instruction is imparted through the medium of Hindi and English in these Kendriya Vidyalayas, the ultimate objective being, to make pupils achieve a reasonable measure of proficiency in both the languages. The Vidyalaya is one of the hundreds of the pace setting Kendriya Vidyalayas run in India and abroad by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan an autonomous body formed in 1964 by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Being affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, the Vidyalaya prepares pupils for All India Secondary School Examination and All India Senior School Certificate Examination. |
